Fresno State A.D. Thomas Boeh reassigned within university

Fresno State athletic director Thomas Boeh has been reassigned to a different role within the university, the school announced on Tuesday. Effective Friday, Boeh will be serve as a special assistant to school president Joseph I. Castro.

Fresno State athletic director Thomas Boeh has been reassigned to a different role within the university, the school announced on Tuesday.

Effective Friday, Boeh will be serve as a special assistant to school president Joseph I. Castro.

Stephen Robertello and Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson have been named interim co-ADs.

Boeh has been the athletic director since July 2005. During his tenure, the school won a baseball national championship in 2008. The school's football team went 11-2 last season, losing to USC in the Sun Bowl, while the men's basketball team was 21-18, losing in the CBI Championship Series to Siena.

“Thomas has effectively directed our athletics program to successes in the classroom and on the field,” Castro said in a statement. “He has been unwavering in his commitment to our university, our intercollegiate program and our student-athletes. Fresno State has benefited from his laser focus on student-athletes and dedication to Bulldogs athletics.”

Added Boeh: “After nine years as Director of Athletics at Fresno State, I am very proud of all that we have accomplished. Fresno State is a great university and I will look forward to continuing my service in a new capacity, one in which I believe I can contribute in a significant manner.”
