Report: College of Charleston close to naming new coach
The College of Charleston is likely to name a new head coach by the end of the week, reports ESPN.com.
Earlier Monday,The Post and Courier's Andrew Miller reported that the school interviewed former Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz for its head coaching job and that the school also plans to interview former NBA guard Anthony Johnson.
According to ESPN.com, in addition to Lutz and Johnson, the school will conduct interviews with four others by the end of Tuesday: UConn assistant Karl Hobbs, Virginia assistant Ritchie McKay, Clemson assistant Earl Grant and Wofford head coach Mike Young.

Charleston fired coach Doug Wojcik earlier this month amid allegations of physical and verbal abuse towards players.
Johnson, who played for Charleston from 1992-97, is reportedly the front-runner for the job. He averaged 5.6 points and 2.9 assists in the NBA before retiring in 2010.
Several of the candidates have head coaching experience. Lutz coached Charlotte for 12 seasons and is the school's all-time winningest coach at 218-157. He was fired in 2010 and is currently an assistant at North Carolina State. Hobbs was the head coach at George Washington, and McKay has been a head coach for four programs.
Charleston finished last season 14-18.
