Duke All-ACC tight end Braxton Deaver out for season with torn ACL

Duke tight end Braxton Deaver will miss the 2014 season after tearing his right ACL, the team announced Monday.
Deaver, a fifth-year senior, was injured in practice Monday morning. He can petition the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility.
Deaver also missed the 2012 season after tearing the ACL in his other leg. He was suspended for summer workouts and the first five days of fall camp this season.

Deaver is the second All-ACC Blue Devil to go down for the season with a torn ACL. Kelby Brownsuffered the same injury last week.
After leading all ACC tight ends in receptions last season, Deaver was named to the All-ACC third team.
Duke's first game of the season is against Elon on August 30.
