The Notre Dame Fighting Irish finished 8-4 in 2013 and beat Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl. Eight Notre Dame players were drafted in 2014, including Zack Martin and Stephon Tuitt.

Everett Golson is back from a one-year suspension and was named the starter for the Fighting Irish this season. On Aug. 15, the school announced an investigation into alleged academic fraud involving four members of the team, including wide receiver DaVaris Daniels.
