An LSU spokesman told The Advocate that Valentine has not been cleared and is still “going through the final phases of the admission process”.

Valentine won't be allowed to work out in full pads until the fifth day of practice after going through the four-day acclimation period mandated by the NCAA.

The Tigers, ranked No. 13 in the preseason AP Poll, open the season Aug. 30 against Wisconsin.
