Indiana suspends WR Caleb Cornett after arrest

Indiana has suspended redshirt sophomore wide receiver Caleb Cornett from the football team, head coach Kevin Wilson said in a statement, according to Kyle Rowland of the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette. Cornett was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with battery and disorderly conduct, though both charges were dropped.
He was arrested after officers witnessed a fight in which Cornett threw a punch.

Cornett was held in Monroe County Jail on a probation violation and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday. He is on probation stemming from a December 2013 arrest for reckless driving.
Cornett played in 11 games last season, mostly on special teams. He was expected to compete for playing time this year.
