The Louisville Cardinals finished the 2013 season with a 12-1 overall record, including a 7-1 mark in conference play. The Cardinals finished in second place in the American Athletic Conference. This will be their first year in the ACC.

Redshirt sophomore Will Gardnerwill start at quarterback after Teddy Bridgewater left for the NFL. Running back Dominique Brown returns after rushing for 825 yards last season as a junior.

Bobby Petrino returns to Louisville for his second stint with the team. From 2003 through 2006, Petrino had a 41-9 record as the Cardinals coach.
