Florida State Seminoles vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Seminoles finished last season at 14-0 and won the national title. The Cowboys went 10-3, closing their season with back-to-back losses to Oklahoma and Missouri. Florida State is ranked first in the preseason AP poll. (Oklahoma State is unranked.) Saturday's game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Florida State facts

Florida State beat Auburn in the final BCS National Championship game on January 6 to finish its unbeaten season. The 34-31 win was Florida State's only victory by less than two touchdowns. 

Quarterback Jameis Winston won the Heisman Trophy last season. Winston threw for 4,057 yards and 40 touchdowns as a redshirt freshman.

Florida State received 104 votes to win the ACC championship in a preseason media poll, 102 more than any other team.

The Seminoles have had 18 players drafted into the NFL over the past two years.

Florida State has won six consecutive postseason games.

The Seminoles won last season's season opener 41-13 over Pittsburgh. Winston, in his first collegiate start, completed 25 of 27 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns. 

Oklahoma State facts

Oklahoma State was picked to finish fifth in a preseason Big 12 media poll.

This is Mike Gundy's 10th season coaching Oklahoma State. Under Gundy, the Cowboys have beaten four teams ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll. Last season, Oklahoma State split games against top five teams, beating No. 3 Baylor but falling to No. 5 Missouri in its bowl game. 

Oklahoma State does not face another team ranked in the preseason AP poll until Nov. 1 when it takes on No. 20 Kansas State.

Oklahoma State returns eight starters from last season.

The Cowboys won their season opener last year 21-3 over Mississippi State.
