Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Navy Midshipmen

The Ohio State Buckeyes open 2014 on the road at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore to take on the Navy Midshipmen. Ohio State went undefeated in regular season last year before losing to Michigan State in the Big Ten championship game and Clemson in the Orange Bowl. Navy finished 2013 at 9-4, including a win over Middle Tennessee State in the Armed Forces Bowl.

Ohio State enters the season having won 24 straight regular-season games, the longest streak in the nation.

The Buckeyes recently lost senior quarterback Braxton Miller for the season to a torn labrum. In Miller's place will be redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett.

Urban Meyer is 12-0 in season openers as a head coach.

After losing Miller, the Buckeyes now return just 11.5 percent of their total offense from last season.

Ohio State is 4-0 all-time against Navy. The teams last met in 2009.

Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds was named to the preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Award, The Manning Award and the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award. 

Navy's last win over a Top 25 team came in 2009 when it beat Notre Dame.

Ken Niumatalolo is entering his eighth season as head coach of the Midshipmen. He has a 49-30 record with the team. 

Navy has made a bowl game in 10 of its last 11 seasons. 

The Midshipmen received two points in the AP Preseason Top 25 Poll.
