Eastern Washington vs. Washington

Washington will look to push its record to 2-0 this Saturday when it hosts FCS Eastern Washington. In their opener last weekend, the Huskies beat Hawaii 17-16. Eastern Washington, an FCS semifinalist in 2013, is 2-0 on the season. The Eagles defeated Sam Houston State in the first Division I game of the season on Aug. 23 and NAIA program Montana Western on Aug. 30.

Chris Petersen won his Washington debut in last Saturday's game against Hawaii. He was formerly the head coach at Boise State

Starting quarterback Cyler Miles was suspended for the season opener. Miles will start against Eastern Washington.

Jeff Lindquist started in place of Miles. He finished with 162 yards on 10-of-26 passing with one touchdown. 

The leading receiver after one game for the Huskies is John Ross, who finished the game with two catches for 96 yards and a touchdown. 

With the departure of Bishop Sankey to the NFL, Lavon Coleman was the team's primary running back. He rushed the ball 17 times for 78 yards. 

The Huskies finished with 336 yards of total offense. On third-down attempts, they converted just five of 16 attempts.

Defensively, Washington allowed 424 yards to Hawaii, which amassed over 200 yards in both the rushing and receiving category. The Warriors had 26 first downs on the night. 

Washington and Eastern Washington have met only once before. The Huskies won 30-27.

The Huskies are 89-28-5 in home openers.

Washington is 57-13 at home against non-conference opponents since 1981.
