Oklahoma, Tulsa share respect

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) There's no hatred when Oklahoma and Tulsa meet.

There's genuine respect between the programs, something that often is missing between schools from the same state. Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said he wants the Golden Hurricane to succeed when they aren't playing the Sooners. Tulsa coach Bill Blankenship says he admires Oklahoma.

The Sooners have won the past seven meetings and Tulsa hasn't won since 1996, but the coaches say the series helps football thrive in the state. Oklahoma has a large fan base in Tulsa and several of its players are from there. Tulsa appreciates the exposure and the likely sellout of 30,000-seat Chapman Stadium.

One rivalry will be on display Saturday - between Oklahoma linebacker Dominique Alexander and his older brother, Tulsa defensive end Derrick Alexander.
