Roy Hibbert donates $1 million to Georgetown
Former Georgetown center Roy Hibbert has donated $1 million to the school to help build a new athletics center on campus, the school announced Tuesday.
Hibbert's donation will go towards building the John R. Thompson Jr. Intercollegiate Athletics Center, a four-story, 144,000 square-foot facility on the Georgetown campus. The project will cost $62 million and is funded entirely by donations, including contributions from former Hoyas Patrick Ewing and Jeff Green.

The facility is named after former Georgetown head coach John Thompson Jr. Thompson's son, John Thompson III, is the current head coach of the Hoyas.
Hibbert played four years at Georgetown. In his junior season in 2007, the team advanced to the Final Four. He returned for his senior season and led the Hoyas to their second consecutive Big East championship.
College of Charleston hires Earl Grant as head coach
Hibbert was the 17th pick of the 2008 NBA draft. He is a two-time NBA All-Star and currently plays with the Indiana Pacers.
