New Mexico State University has begun selling beer and wine at the Pan American Center for Aggies home games, according to a report from James Staley of La Cruces News.

The change took place last weekend for a volleyball tournament hosted at the school. The alcoholic drinks are being sold in 12- or 16-ounce cups and cost between $7.50 and $8.50. The introduction of alcohol at the stadium will generate up to $50,000 in additional revenue for the university, according to the report citing estimates from school officials.

Alcohol had previously been sold at the Center during the 2006-07 men's basketball season but not since then. Beer and wine continues to be sold at concerts held at the stadium.

The Pan American Center seats 12,482 people and has been the on-campus arena since 2002.
