Wake Forest reserve QB Kevin Sousa charged with DWI
Wake Forest reserve quarterback Kevin Sousa was charged with Driving While Impaired Saturday night, according to police records and reported by SB Nation site Blogger So Dear.
Sousa was suspended indefinitely by the team yesterday for violating team rules.
His driver's license was also revoked and he has an Oct. 14 court date, records show.
Blogger So Dear reports that an eye witness said Sousa removed a gate to drive his vehicle onto the upper quad on campus before being "chased down by several Wake Forest police officers."
Sousa, a redshirt junior, is a former three-star recruit who chose the Demon Deacons over offers from Michigan, West Virginia, Texas Tech and others. He was used as a wide receiver at Wake Forest before switching back to quarterback in spring practice.
