Jarvis Johnson, a point guard in the Class of 2015, has verbally committed to Minnesota and coach Richard Pitino, according to 247Sports

Johnson, who's from Minneapolis, is a four-star guard on 247Sports and ranked as the No. 1 player in Minnesota and No. 17 point guard in the nation.

He chose the Gophers over offers from Baylor, Wisconsin, Maryland, Michigan State, UCLA and others.

Johnson said he has a great relationship with Minnesota's coaching staff, which was one of his major selling points. He also cited Pitino's up-tempo style as factoring into his decision.

The point guard joins Kevin Dorsey, Dupree McBrayer and Jonathan Nwanko as Golden Gophers' 2015 commitments. Together, the four are ranked as the No. 25 class in the country on 247Sports.
