Rice wide receiver Jordan Taylor is out for Saturday's game against Texas A&M on Saturday, Taylor said to the Houston Chronicleon Thursday.

Taylor has been held out of practice for over a month due to a sprained left foot, though he recently began jogging. He said he hopes to return to practice next week so he can play in Rice's Conference USA opener against Old Dominion next week.

A redshirt senior, Taylor has led the Owls in receiving each of the last two seasons. Last year, Taylor caught 55 passes for 848 yards and eight touchdowns.

Rice is 0-1 after losing 48-17 to Notre Dame in its season opener.
