Former Colorado State point guard Jon Octeus, who announced in June that he was transferring to UCLA for his final season, has been denied admission to UCLA, reports the Coloradoan.

Octeus graduated over the summer and will be immediately eligible to play in 2014-15.

The point guard averaged 13.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game last season with the Rams and was expected to be UCLA's starting point guard.

Octeus is 6-foot-4 and a native of Miami, Florida. He spent his freshman season at Wabash Valley College in Illinois.

According to the Coloradoan, CSU does not have a scholarship still available for Octeus. The Rams brought in transfers Antwan Scott and Fred Richardson over the offseason.

Before committing to UCLA, Octeus took official visits to Missouri and Cincinnati. Tennessee also was interested in him.
