The Owls lost their first two games of the season, first to Notre Dame and then last week to Texas A&M. Rice is the only team at the FBS level to have played two current members of the AP Top 10.

Dating back to their bowl game at the end of last season, Rice has lost three consecutive games. 

Rice holds a nine-game home winning streak that dates back to Oct. 13, 2012.

Quarterback Driphus Jackson has compiled 526 yards of total offense in his first two starts this season, the best start by a Rice quarterback since 2008.

The Owls have seen 18 players make their debuts in the first two games.

Old Dominion facts

This will be the Monarchs first-ever Conference USA game and the first meeting between Rice and Old Dominion.​

Old Dominion lost its only road game so far, a 46-34 defeat to NC State. Last season, ODU was 2-4 on the road. 

Quarterback Taylor Heinicke has thrown for 742 yards and five touchdowns on the season. The Monarchs passing ranks 52nd in the FBS.

Last week, ODU got its first-ever home win over an FBS team when it defeated Eastern Michigan.
