Texas DT Desmond Jackson to have season-ending foot surgery

Texas starting defensive tackle Desmond Jackson will have season-ending foot surgery, head coach Charlie Strong announced Wednesday.
Jackson tweeted that he is having lisfranc surgery. The senior had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery through three games this season for the Longhorns.
He played in all 13 of Texas' games as both a junior and sophomore.

Strong also announced Wednesday that quarterback David Ash is giving up football after dealing with concussions last season and sustaining another one during the Longhorns' season opener.
Texas is 1-2 on the season and plays at Kansas on Saturday.
I'm having lisfranc surgery. All I can do is smile and keep my head up. Get my degree in the spring and bring one more year to the 40 acres.
