The CFP will release its first set of rankings on Oct. 28. Coach Charlie Strong reportedly said in the offseason that Texas will not make the national championship game.

Swoopes, who has completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns against one interception this season, took over as the team's starting quarterback after David Ash suffered another concussion that led to his decision to stop playing football.
