Season Recap

Michigan State

Week 4: Michigan State 73, Eastern Michigan 14

The 73 points scored by the Spartans was their third-highest total since 1946 and their most since hanging 76 on Northwestern in 1989. Michigan State’s seven rushing touchdowns were its most since scoring 10 TDs on the ground, a school record, against Northwestern in 1989. It was the Spartans' ninth straight home game.

Week 2: Oregon 46, Michigan State 27

Michigan State’s 11-game winning streak was snapped in the loss. Quarterback Connor Cook had career highs in passing yards (343), completions (29) and attempts (47). Tony Lippett had a career-high 11 receptions for 133 yards.

Week 1: Michigan State 45, Jacksonville State 7

The Spartans improved to 79-36-3 all-time in season openers. Tony Lippett had the first 100-yard receiving game of his career, finishing with 167 yards and two touchdowns on four receptions. The game was just the 15th night game in the 91-year history of Spartan Stadium.

Wyoming

Week 4: Wyoming 20, Florida Atlantic 19

The Cowboys won the game on an 18-yard field goal by Stuart Williams with 15 seconds left. Wyoming’s three wins have been decided by a total of 10 points. Demonic Rufran extended his streak of consecutive games with at least one reception to 41, tied for the second-longest string in school history. He is six games behind JovonBouknight, who caught passes in 47 straight games from 2002-05.

Week 3: Oregon 48, Wyoming 14

It was the first-ever meeting between the Cowboys and Ducks. No. 2 Oregon was the highest-ranked opponent Wyoming had faced since playing No. 2 Texas in 2009. The Cowboys had a season-high 439 yards of total offense, including a 98-yard touchdown drive in the first quarter.

Week 2: Wyoming 17, Air Force 13

Colby Kirkegaard threw a three-yard touchdown pass to tight end J.D. Krill with 58 seconds left to give the Cowboys the win in their Mountain West Conference opener. It was the 300th home win in program history for Wyoming and the eighth time in 16 seasons in the Mountain West that Wyoming opened with Air Force.

Week 1: Wyoming 17, Montana 12

The Cowboys held the Grizzlies to 42 rushing yards, the lowest total for an opponent since 2008. Shaun Wick had 134 rushing yards and D.J. May added 96 as Wyoming outgained Montana on the ground 209-42. The game was delayed twice by lightning for a total of 57 minutes.
