Week 3: TCU 30, Minnesota 7
In a 30-7 win over Minnesota, quarterback Trevone Boykin finished with 258 yards passing and two touchdowns and led the team in rushing with 92 yards on 12 carries. The TCU defense forced five turnovers and held Minnesota to 99 yards on the ground, 134 yards less than the Golden Gophers' average.

Week 1: TCU 48, Samford 14
TCU opened the season with a win over Samford, 48-14, during which receiver Kolby Listenbee grabbed three balls for 76 yards, with two of his three catches going for touchdowns.TCU amassed 555 yards, including 200 yards on the ground compiled by eight different rushers. TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown.

Week 4: Texas A&M 58, SMU 6
SMU fell 58-6 to Texas A&M in its third game, giving up 663 yards of total offense to the Aggies. Kolney Cassel got his first start under center, going 1-for-5 for 2 yards; quarterback Garrett Krstitch went 13-for-24, passing for 137 yards. Krstitch was sacked twice. SMU coach June Jones resigned prior to Week 3.

Week 2: North Texas 43, SMU 6
The Mustangs were dismantled by North Texas in their second game. Kolney Cassel finished with 134 yards and one score on 11-for-21 passing. Kevin Pope tallied 33 yards on eight carries and Der'rikk Thompson led the receiving corps with 74 yards on six catches.
Week 1: Baylor 45, SMU 0
In their season opener, Baylor easily overcame SMU. Despite only trailing the Bears by 12 seconds in possession time, the Mustangs gained just 91 yards through the air and lost 24 yards on the ground.
