Four-star class of 2015 shooting guard Matt McQuaid has committed to Michigan State, he told Scout.com.

McQuaid originally committed to SMU but decommitted in July, a week after five-star point guard and fellow SMU commit Emmanuel Mudiay announced he would play overseas instead of in college next year.

Multiple schools showed interest in McQuaid after he re-opened his recruitment, including North Carolina, Texas and Virginia, but he said Michigan State proved the best fit.

“I feel like I fit in really good in their system,” McQuaid added. “When I went down there I learned a lot from the other guys and they always have guys coming back trying to help. Draymond Green and Gary Harris came back. They always have people coming back. There’s tradition there. I liked that and they win.”

Known as a stellar three-point shooter, McQuaid hails from Duncanville, Texas. The 6-foot-5, 175-pounder is ranked the No. 71 player in the country by Rivals.

He joins three-star guard Kyle Ahrens, three-star point guard Khari Willis and five-star forward Deyonta Davis in Michigan State's 2015 class.
