Ole Miss's football and women's basketball teams are being investigated by the NCAA for potential rules violations, Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports reports.

According to the report, athletic director Ross Bjork confirmed the school's athletic program is "working with the NCAA" in an ongoing investigation, but the school hasn't received a Notice of Allegations and a hearing before the NCAA Committee of Infractions hasn't been scheduled.

Yahoo reports that the majority of the investigation is focused on the women's basketball program. Former coach Adrian Wiggins and two assistants were fired in October 2012 over allegations of recruiting violations and academic misconduct.

Current football coach Hugh Freeze and his staff reportedly aren't the subject of any potential major violations, and most of the football-related part of the investigation focuses on a previous staff.

ROUNDTABLE: Learning from Michigan's Morris debacle

In 2013, after Ole Miss signed a touted recruiting class that included five-stars Robert Nkemdiche, Laremy Tunsil and Laquon Treadwell, Freeze defended his program against accusations that he used improper tactics in order to sign the class.

Yahoo says a Freedom of Information Act request from Ole Miss yielded correspondence that described 19 secondary or Level III infractions at the school.

Ole Miss, ranked No. 11 in this week's AP Top 25, hosts No. 3 Alabama on Saturday.
