Iowa State director of athletics Jamie Pollard criticized officials Saturday for controversial calls that have gone against the Cyclones.

Pollard made his remarks following Iowa State's 37-20 loss at Oklahoma State, which dropped the Cyclones' record to 1-4.

Pollard said he's frustrated that his team has been on the "short end of the stick" and lamented calls that the school received apologies for or the media felt the school should have received apologies for.

"We can’t get that back," Pollard said. "That ends careers for football coaches, AD’s and presidents. And so something's got to be done. I don't know what it is, but there needs to be more accountability on what happens in certain situations."

Asked what his "next step" is, Pollard said: “We’ll deal with it internally like we should. I just felt there needed to be a public statement, because this is about Iowa State University, and it’s not fair for our institution to continually be put in this position and not be able to comment.”

The Big 12 suspended a replay official and replay communicator one game following a controversial play in Kansas State's four-point win at Iowa State on Sept. 6.
