Incarnate Word pounds Houston Baptist 31-8

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Junior Sessions ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns, Breylann McCollum had a touchdown through the air, and Incarnate Word beat Houston Baptist 31-8 on Saturday.

The Cardinals (1-5, 1-2 Southland) scored 24 unanswered points to begin the game, highlighted by a 34-yard second quarter strike from McCollum to Casey Jennings. Jennings led all receivers with five catches for 72 yards.

Houston Baptist (1-4, 0-2) scored midway through the fourth, when B.J. Kelly ran 16 yards for a touchdown. Kelly had 49 yards on the ground to lead the Huskies offense, who was held to 217 total yards. Houston Baptist was hurt by two fumbles - one on the fourth play of the game.

Incarnate Word's 31 points scored were eight more than its total from the previous five losses combined.
