Morgan State beats Florida A&M 24-9

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Robert Council ran for two touchdowns in Morgan State's 24-9 victory over Florida A&M on Saturday.

Council also passed for 121 yards, completing 7 of 11 for the Bears (3-3, 2-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Herb Walker, Jr. ran for 203 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.

Council's first TD for Morgan State came early in the first quarter on a 4-yard run. He and Walker each scored on short runs in the second for a 21-3 lead at the break.

The Bears then sealed the win with Chris Moller's 44-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter, extending its lead to 24-6.

Chase Varnadore scored all of the Rattlers' points on 3-of-3 field-goal kicking, including one from 53 yards midway through the fourth.

Damien Fleming was 14 of 23 for 117 yards and threw two interceptions for the Rattlers (0-5, 0-1). Gerald Hearns had 16 carries for 100 yards.
