Five-star recruit Henry Ellenson commits to Marquette

New Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski landed a commitment from five-star 2015 power forward Henry Ellenson on Thursday, according to ESPN's Reggie Rankin

The Rice​ Lake, Wisc., product chose to play close to home over the likes of Michigan State and Kentucky. Ellenson and center Diamond Stone are the two highest-rated prospects in the state of Wisconsin

Ellenson is the No. 4 recruit in his class according to ESPN and No. 17 recruit according to Rivals. 

"I felt Marquette was a place where I could make an immediate impact," Ellenson said. "I feel that I will have an opportunity to play multiple positions and show my versatility. Also, I was the most comfortable with the coaching staff, and a chance to play with my brother was something that was always big to me."

The 6-foot-10 forward also said he feels he'll be able to play multiple positions at Marquette, and believes he can make an immediate impact. 

The Golden Eagles add Ellenson as the centerpiece of a 2015 recruiting class that also includes a pair of four-star guards Nick Noskowiak and Haanif Cheatham, as well as center Matt Heldt

Marquette hired Wojciechowski in April to take over for Buzz Williams, who now coaches at Virginia Tech. Wojciechowski was a Duke​ assistant for 15 years under Mike Krzyzewski as well as a four-year player for the program. 

Ellenson will join his brother Wally on the Golden Eagles' roster.
