TCU head coach Gary Patterson says he was threatened by a Baylor player after his Horned Frogs lost to the Bears Saturday.

Patterson said Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett restrained a Bears player who threatened him on the field after Saturday's game.

Bennett told ESPN's Travis Haney the player in question "mouthed off" but "did not threaten anybody."

After Baylor beat TCU last season, Patterson was critical of the way Baylor head coach Art Briles' handled Ahmad Dixon's ejection for targeting. According to FOX Sports Southwest's David Ubben, Patterson said he apologized to Briles before the game for those comments and that the alleged threat was related to that apology.
