The Texas Longhorns have signed on to a three-game series with the University of South Florida, ESPN.com reported on Thursday. Texas will also play a home-and-home series with the LSU Tigers in 2019 and 2020.

USF will travel to Texas in 2019 and 2024, while the Longhorns will visit South Florida in 2022. The 2019 match-up will be the first meeting between the two teams.

It will also be Texas' fourth-ever game in the state of Florida, its last coming in 2007 against the University of Central Florida. The Longhorns are 2-1 so far in the Sunshine State.

A source tied to the LSU program also revealed to Horns Digest that the Tigers would travel to Austin to play Texas on Sept. 7, 2019, followed by a trip to Baton Rogue by the Longhorns Sept. 12, 2020.

The two teams last met in the Cotton Bowl after the 2002 season, in which Texas defeated LSU, 35-20.

The games against LSU will replace a two-game series cancelled by Notre Dame earlier this fall, for which the Fighting Irish paid Texas a $150,000 cancellation fee.

LSU also announced today that it would return to the Cowboy Classic in Dallas to open the 2018 season. The Tigers will face the Miami Hurricanes in AT&T Stadium on Sept. 1, 2018.

The two teams will meet for the first time since the 2005 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, in which LSU beat Miami, 40-3.

LSU appeared in the Cowboy Classic twice previously, winning 40-27 against the Oregon Beavers in 2011 and 37-27 over the TCU Horned Frogs in 2013.
