Texas A&M and Clemson agreed to a home-and-home football series in 2018 and 2019, Texas A&M announced.

The Aggies will host Clemson Sept. 8, 2018 at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, and the return game will be played at Death Valley on Sept. 7, 2019. The announcement comes a day after Texas A&M backed out of a two-game, home-and-home series scheduled against Oregon.

“We are excited to play the Clemson Tigers, who have been on Texas A&M’s non-conference schedule previously,” Texas A&M Director of Athletics Eric Hyman said. “As a fellow land-grant institution, Clemson is very similar to Texas A&M with a great football tradition and passionate fans. This will be a great non-conference series for both schools.”

Hyman said his goal is to schedule seven home games for Texas A&M each season.

The Aggies fulfilled that obligation even though they will hold one game each season at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas against Arkansas. During even number years, A&M is the designated home team for the game.

Texas A&M leads its all-time series with Clemson, 3-1. The Tigers scored their only victory in the series in 2005, with a 25-24 triumph in Clemson. The Aggies won 27-6 in College Station the previous year.
