BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) Julius Childs broke up a final pass from Zach Lujan as Youngstown State blunted a fourth-quarter rally by South Dakota State, preserving a 30-27 win in the Hobo Day Game on Saturday.

Hunter Wells connected with Jelani Berassa from 20 yards, boosting the Penguins (6-2, 3-1 Missouri Valley) ahead 30-20 with 8:21 to play. Lujan led the Jackrabbits (5-3, 2-2) 75 yards in 15 plays on the next possession, hitting Zach Zenner from the 6 and pulling to 30-27. South Dakota State forced Youngstown State to punt, but Lujan, facing fourth-and-19 at his 13, had a last pass - intended for leading receiver Jake Wieneke at the 40 - broken up by Childs inside the final minute.

Wells finished with 256 yards passing and two TDs.

Lujan completed 28 of 42 passes for 329 yards and two TDs with Wieneke catching 10 for 178 yards.
