Rutgers starting quarterback Gary Novasuffered an apparent knee injury late in the second quarter of Saturday's 42-24 loss to Nebraska.

Nova did not return to the game and was seen limping on the sideline. He was replaced by redshirt freshman Chris Laviano, who threw for 49 yards and added 54 yards on the ground.

In the loss, Nova completed 8 of his 19 pass attempts for 156 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Over eight games this season, Nova has thrown for 1,793 yards with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The senior started 28 games over his previous three seasons.

Rutgers, which fell to 5-3 (1-3 Big Ten) with the loss, hosts Wisconsin next Saturday.
