Saint Joe's will wear a uniform patch in 2014-15 honoring Dr. Jack Ramsay

Saint Joseph's men's basketball team will wear a uniform patch this season that honors the late Dr. Jack Ramsey, according to the Associated Press' Dan Gelston.

Saint Joseph's men's basketball team will wear a uniform patch this season that honors the late Dr. Jack Ramsay, according to the Associated Press' Dan Gelston.

After graduating from then-Saint Joseph's College in 1949, Ramsay coached at Saint Joseph's from 1955 until 1966, amassing a 234-72 record and nine postseason berths. During his time at the helm of the Hawks he mentored five future NBA coaches, including Jack McKinney and Paul Westhead.

Ramsay also coached for 21 years in the NBA with the Buffalo Braves, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers and IndianaPacers. He passed away in April at the age of 89. 

Saint Joseph's opens the season Nov. 14 against Farleigh Dickinson.
