Rutgers QB Gary Nova questionable against Wisconsin
Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova remains questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Wisconsin Badgers. Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood indicated on Thursday morning that Nova is a game-time decision due to a knee injury that forced him out of last week's 42-24 loss to Nebraska on Oct. 25.
Nova was seen limping after being forced out of the Nebraska game during the second quarter.
The 6-foot-2 senior has completed 59.9 percent of his passes through eight games this season, accumulating 1,949 passing yards and 14 touchdowns while throwing nine interceptions.
• One game likely to decide Big Ten East; West a mess
Nova threw for a career-high 404 yards in a 26-24 home victory over Michigan on October 4. He has posted a 157.3 quarterback rating so far this year.
In three previous seasons, he has started 28 games for the Scarlet Knights.
If Nova is unable to play, Rutgers will likely turn to 6-foot-3 freshman quarterback Chris Laviano, who completed 4 of 7 passes for 49 yards and added 54 yards on the ground after taking over against Nebraska.
• QB Chris Laviano may get first start for Rutgers
The Scarlet Knights hold a 5-3 overall record with a 1-3 mark in conference play. They are currently tied for fourth in the Big Ten East division.
