Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah injures knee against Purdue
Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah injured his left knee in the first quarter of Saturday's game against Purdue at Memorial Stadium.
Huskers coach Bo Pelini said that Abdullah will probably sit the rest of the game but that he doesn't believe the injury to be serious.
Abdullah has rushed for 1,249 yards and 17 touchdowns on 180 carries this season. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound senior is considered one of the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy.

Abdullah suffered the injury when he dove trying to recover a fumble by quarterback Tommy Armstrong. Abdullah re-entered the game before being removed for treatment after one carry.
With Abdullah out, Junior Imani Cross and sophomore Terrell Newby are the Huskers' top two rushers at the running back position.
