McCray carries Bryant by Central Connecticut 31-3

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) Ricardo McCray rushed for a career-high 243 yards and three touchdowns to power Bryant to a 31-3 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.

McCray had scoring runs of 82, 1 and 57 yards on his way to matching the sixth best single-game mark for the Bulldogs (7-1, 3-0 Northeast Conference). He carried the ball 12 times, averaging 20.3.

The Blue Devils (2-7, 0-4) opened the scoring with a short field goal but Bryant tied it on the last play of the first quarter. McCray broke free for his long touchdown to break the tie and had the 1-yarder in the final minute before the half, making it 17-3.

Paul Canevari added 116 yards on 18 carries as the Bulldogs piled up 352 on the ground to finish with 389 yards of total offense. Central Connecticut had 152 yards, just 32 through the air.
