Arkansas-Pine Bluff beats MVSU 24-14

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) Benjamin Anderson and Willie Young connected for three touchdowns and Arkansas-Pine Bluff took a 24-14 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday night.

Anderson threw scoring passes of 10 and 8 yards to Young for a 14-0 lead. Tyler Strickland added a 23-yard field goal before MVSU's Quantavius Peterson threw to Charlie Crenshaw for a 73-yard touchdown and a 17-7 halftime score.

A third Anderson-to-Young connection of 59 yards boosted the Golden Lions' lead to 24-7 in the fourth quarter before Patrick Ivy's 14-yard touchdown pass to Julian Stafford for the Delta Devils (2-7, 1-6 Southwestern Athletic) ended the scoring. Stafford finished with nine catches for 174 yards.

Anderson completed 17 of 30 passes for 232 yards without an interception for the Lions (3-5, 2-4) with Young collecting 175 yards on 10 catches. Brian Handley added 160 yards rushing on 18 carries.

Lawrence Mosley made two interceptions for the Lions.
