Butt has caught 10 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown over seven games this season.
The 6-foot-6, 249-pound sophomore tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee earlier this year but missed only one game this season.
The Wolverines (3-5, 1-3 Big Ten) host Indiana on Saturday.
