Mount Saint Joseph freshman Lauren Hill, who has inoperable brain cancer, scored in her first career college basketball game Sunday.

The game, against Hiram College, was originally scheduled to be played on Nov. 15. The NCAA granted an exemption to allow the game to be played sooner so that Hill could play. It was also moved to Xavier’s Cintas Center, where a sold out crowd of 10,250 came to watch the freshman.

It was Hill's dream to play in a college basketball game.

Hill scored on a lay-up after Mount Saint Joseph won the opening tip-off. She received a standing ovation and was met by her teammates at halfcourt, according to SB Nation.

"I've never felt so good in my entire life," she said during a sideline interview. "Let's not call it my last game. This is my first collegiate game."

Cincinnati Bengals tackle Devon Still, whose 4-year-old daughter Leah has pediactric cancer, wore the words "Lauren Strong" on his eye black for the Bengals game Sunday in honor of Hill.
