Mount St. Joseph University freshman forward Lauren Hill, who has inoperable brain cancer, was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Hill scored four points against Hiram College on Sunday in front of a crowd of more than 10,000 fans. The game raised more than $70,000 for pediatric brain cancer research.

Because of Hill's battle with cancer, the NCAA allowed the game to be rescheduled from its original Nov. 15 date so Hill could make her collegiate debut.
