Indiana suspends Williams, Robinson four games for failed drug tests
Indiana head coach Tom Crean announced Monday that sophomores Troy Williams and Stanford Robinson have been suspended four games each due to failed drug tests, according to the Indianapolis Star. ESPN's Jeff Goodman first reported the news.
Freshman Emmitt Holt, who was driving a car that struck teammate Devin Davis on Saturday, has also been suspended for four games.
Davis remains in serious condition in the hospital but is improving. Holt registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.025 and was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol and operating a vehicle with a BAC above .02.
Williams, a forward, started all 32 games for the Hoosiers last season, averaging 7.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Robinson, a guard, started nine games but played in all 32, averaging 6.4 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Behind junior Yogi Ferrell, Williams and Robinson are Indiana's next two leading returning scorers.
Holt was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and is from Webster, New York.
The three suspended players will miss games against Mississippi Valley State, Texas Southern, No. 22 SMU and Lamar.
