Noel leads Sacred Heart past CCSU 35-27

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) RJ Noel threw for 327 yards and five touchdowns, leading Sacred Heart to a 35-27 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.

Noel broke a 21-all tie in the fourth quarter with a 63-yard strike to Moses Webb. CCSU responded with a 54-yard touchdown run by Brenden Lytton. A missed extra point kept the Pioneers (8-2, 4-1 Northeast) ahead 28-27.

Noel answered back with a 12-play, 64-yard drive capped by his 18-yard score to Tyler Dube with 7:47 left.

The Blue Devils (2-8, 0-5) had three more chances to tie it, but Nick SanGiacomo threw two interceptions in the final minutes.

Noel threw touchdowns to Tim Goodwin, Jackson King and Dube in the second quarter for a 21-14 halftime lead. Webb had 159 yards on six receptions and Dube finished with 111 yards.

Lytton paced the Blue Devils with 193 yards on 30 carries and a pair of scores.
