NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Josh Williams scored 32 points to lead Lipscomb to a 91-70 victory over Division-III Berry in the season opener for both teams on Friday night.

Martin Smith added 14 points and nine rebounds and Nathan Moran had 10 points for the Bisons. Lipscomb shot 40.3 percent from the field and out-rebounded Berry 56-40.

Caleb Johnson, Nick Marder and Coleman Ellingsworth each finished with 13 points for the Vikings. Berry was limited to 21-of-63 shooting and committed 26 turnovers.

Lipscomb was nursing a five-point lead late in the first half, but used a quick 7-0 surge ignited by Martin Smith's 3-pointer to go up 46-34 at halftime. The Bisons led by double digits the rest of the way.

Williams was 9 of 15 from the field and 11 of 13 from the line. He was just two points off his career high of 34 set as a freshman last season.
