College of Charleston beats Furman 75-40
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) Anthony Stitt scored 19 points and Adejhi Baru added 16 and grabbed eight rebounds on Friday and the College of Charleston beat Furman 75-40.
Donovan Gilmore came off the bench to add 12 points for the Cougars, who never trailed and shot 31-for-59 from the field. Stitt hit three of the Cougars' 11 3-pointers and Joe chealey had seven assists.
Kendrec Ferrara and Daniel Fowler each scored eight points for the Paladins and Kris Acox grabbed eight rebounds.
Cameron Johnson hit a 3-pointer for the Cougars at 12:49, sparking a 9-2 run for a 20-8 lead, but the Paladins came back with a 10-2 run capped by a trey by Fowler to make it a four-point game at 22-18.
That's as close as they got. Baru hit a jumper, layup and dunk and the Cougars led 32-21 at halftime, then ripped an 11-0 second-half run to continue to pull away.
