Abilene Christian defeats Hillsdale Baptist 101-61

ABILENE, Texas (AP) Parker Wentz had 23 points, five assists and five rebounds to lead Abilene Christian to a 101-61 win over Hillsdale Baptist for the first game of the season Friday night.

Harrison Hawkins added 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, LaDarrien Williams scored 16 points off the bench and Austin Cooke grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for Abilene Christian. Wentz made 8 of 11 shots from the field, including 4 of 6 from 3

Phil Carey finished with 21 points, including making 9 of 11 free throws, and grabbed seven rebounds for Hillsdale Baptist. No other Hillsdale Baptist player scored above six points. The Saints finished with just three team assists, also going 0 for 13 from 3-point range.

Hillsdale took a 10-6 lead in the initial minutes of the game, but Abilene Christian responded with a 21-5 run, capped by a Harrison Hawkins 3-pointer.
