Chattanooga opens with 110-53 rout of Hiwassee

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) Six players scored in double figures, including three reserves, as Chattanooga opened its season with a 110-53 rout of Hiawassee Friday night.

Justin Tuoyo powered the Mocs with 11 points and 13 rebounds but all five starters had at least nine points, combining to shoot 19 of 33. Greg Pryor led the starters with 13 points and Duke Ethridge led the reserves with 13.

Joel Bailey had 14 points for the Tigers (0-6), who were out-rebounded 54-27 and were forced into 25 turnovers. Hiwassee shot just 36 percent, including 19 percent (3 of 16) from 3-point range.

Chattanooga raced to a 62-21 lead at the half. The Mocs scored the first nine points of the game and closed the half with a 16-2 run.
