Georgia State overwhelms Tennessee Temple 115-55

ATLANTA (AP) Ryan Harrow and R.J. Hunter combined for 49 points to lead Georgia State in a dominating 115-55 win over Tennessee Temple in the season opener on Friday night.

Hunter, who made 5 of 9 shots from beyond the arc, totaled 24 points and had eight assists. Curtis Washington added 13 points and Kevin Ware had 12.

The Panthers took an early lead and coasted to a 54-25 halftime advantage. They hit 40 of 64 field goal attempts, making 61.9% of their three point attempts for the game. The Panthers also won the rebound battle, pulling down 39 to 29.

Tennessee Temple, which made only 20 of 55 field goal attempts, was led by Bryan Jones with 17 points. BJ Brown had 10 for the Crusaders.

The previous largest margin of victory for GSU was 45. Georgia State had only scored over 110 on three previous occasions, the last being in 1991.
