IRVINE, Calif. (AP) Alex Young scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help UC Irvine to a 68-50 win over Pacific on Sunday.

The Anteaters (2-0) opened with back-to-back scores from Will Davis II and Young to take an early lead that was never challenged. Young hit just 3 of 10 from the field, including a 3-pointer, but made a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Davis finished with 12 points and John Ryan added 10 in the win, which avenged a UC Irvine loss to the Tigers last year.

Pacific (1-1) narrowed the gap to 18-13 on a 3-pointer from T.J. Wallace with 6:43 to go in the first half. But the Anteaters responded with a 10-3 burst that included 3-pointers from Ioannis Dimakopoulos and Young and the lead never fell below double digits the rest of the game.

Wallace led Pacific with 19 points, including four 3-pointers.
