SAN ANTONIO (AP) Shaquille Boga hit a 3-pointer with 40 seconds left to lift Texas-Pan American over Texas-San Antonio 63-62 on Monday night.

UTSA's Kaj-Bjorn Sherman made three free throws with 32 seconds left, but the Roadrunners would not get any closer.

Janari Joesaar led Texas-Pan American (2-0) with 17 points, 18 rebounds and six blocks. Boga finished with 16, Shaquille Hines had 15 and Dan Kimasa added 10.

UTSA (1-1) was paced by Ryan Bowie with 18 points, Jeromie Hill had 16 to go with 10 rebounds and Keon Lewis scored 10, on 3-of-17 shooting. The Roadrunners made just 30.7 percent of their 75 attempts.

Boga was suspended for UTPA's season-opening 88-80 win over Wayland for violating ''department and team policy.''
